There are two types of people in this world: rule followers and rule breakers. Some people really get a high off doing the opposite of what they are told, while others can be thrown into a full on panic attack just from the thought of breaking a rule. Regardless of which you identify with, you can agree that there are indeed times and places where rules need to be followed; such as wearing your seatbelt on a roller coaster. If not, the consequences are not generally good. When it comes to faux wall paneling, we thoroughly advise you to follow the rules. It will only help you in the long run! If you try to bypass certain steps, you just might ruin the end result.
The first rule is a fun one: choose your favorite faux wall paneling for the project you wish to complete. You literally cannot go wrong here, because Faux Direct makes only the highest quality faux wall paneling. Each panel, whether it is a variety of brick, stone, or wood, is made from a high quality polyurethane. Despite the fact that the panels are not real, they look and feel real because of the quality of the synthetic material in which they were made. If you aren’t sure which look to go for, ask for some free samples! The customer service team will be happy to help.
The second rule: once panels are received in the mail, unbox and allow an entire 24 hours to pass before installation. Now folks, this is an important one. The reason this is necessary is because the paneling needs to get used to the temperature and humidity level where they will be applied. If not, you run the risk of them either shrinking or expanding once applied to the wall.
Third rule: follow the step-by-step installation manual (found under the ‘Resources’ tab). This incredibly thorough guide will walk you through the entire process, beginning to end. It will tell you what tools to have on hand, what adhesive to use, and exactly how they are to be placed on the wall. If you follow these instructions to a T, you shouldn’t have a problem yielding a gorgeous end result with your faux wall paneling. If you skip a step, however, well- then you are on your own. Cannot say we didn’t warn you!
